This project aims to assess anhedonia in adolescents through a multimodal approach that includes functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS)—a non-invasive neuroimaging technique that uses near-infrared light to measure real-time cortical activity—combined with individualized reward-processing tasks and validated self-report questionnaires; to examine an Art-Based Learning intervention as a method to enhance affective engagement, sensory awareness, and reward responsiveness through aesthetic and embodied experience; and to investigate targeted repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), guided by fNIRS-derived neural markers, as a personalized neuromodulation strategy to directly influence dysregulated reward circuits and reduce anhedonia symptoms.
